Spruced Up is a family-run professional cleaning business led by Alan and Sharon Best. We provide expert carpet, upholstery, and hard floor tile cleaning services across North Cumbria, the Scottish Borders, and Northumberland. Our methods include Hot Water Extraction (HWE) as well as all forms of Low Moisture Cleaning, allowing us to tailor each job to the specific needs of the material and environment.
We have particular expertise in upholstery and fine fabric care, as well as hard floor cleaning and polishing, including diamond polishing techniques for natural stone and tile surfaces.
We’ve been proud supporters of the NCCA’s motto “Service with Integrity” since our launch in 2020, following early training with the NCCA and CleanSmart. Since then, we’ve continued to invest in advanced industry education—including Upholstery & Fine Fabric care (Lee Breen), Hard Floor and Tile Polishing (Tile Boutique), and successful completion of the Woolsafe exam in 2024, with full Woolsafe membership planned for 2025.
Every job includes a full pre-clean inspection using official NCCA survey pads. Our attention to detail and customer-first ethos has helped us earn nearly 300 verified 5-star Google reviews—making us the most reviewed company of our kind in the region.
Our client list includes prestigious residential properties (including castles), as well as blue-chip commercial clients such as Pirelli and Komatsu. Alan’s background in pharmaceuticals and brand marketing, and Sharon’s experience in retail and customer service, combine to ensure professionalism, safety, and outstanding results on every job.
